As a filmmaker I am very grateful to have such a valuable and affordable resource to educate myself with. There are films on here that are nearly impossible to find anywhere else, and they are all so rich in quality. Can't wait to see what new titles come out. Right now I'm going to return to crash-coursing in both Kurosawa and Bresson!!!
  • I'm download and I have tried countless of sites and none of them didn't work so I'm gonna try this

A selection not available elsewhere. Very well presented. Great that this is available for those who love the best films.

So very exciting to exit the Netflix and Hulu platforms, even the Indie streaming services are so very dim compared to you! Thank you for a great app and access to art that had been hidden for too long. Keep up the good work!

I'm a huge Criterion fan, but Filmstruck is an AWFUL service.
  • Everything I hoped it would be

Been waiting for a streaming service like this for a long, long time, and it's everything I wanted it to be. Remarkable film selection, themes, insightful commentaries, lots of extras. I got this for Criterion Collection, and then found out how many films on the other channel I wanted to see. A filmlover's paradise.
  • An irreplaceable service

FilmStruck provides movie lovers with the kind of films they can't get anywhere else. I love the selections, themes, extras, everything - every day I click on the app is like Christmas. But it needs work. Movies will sometimes stop for long periods due to streaming issues, and the subtitles - especially for Mike Leigh's Meantime - are just atrocious. (What's the point of captioning working class English characters if half the time what they say is deemed "[inaudible]"?)
  • Good content, bad Apple TV UI/UX design. I cancelled my subscription.

While the content Filmstruck offers is very high, the Apple TV UI/UX is very bad. Overall the app is clunky, and watching a film is a pain because the FFW/REV control is horrendous. There is no scanning of content, and no instant skip forward or skip back controls. If you do skip forward or back, you wait for the movie to reload itself, and it's slow. This is on an Apple TV 4 with a 100+Mbps connection. Also, the designers of the app interface refused to follow standard AppleTV behavior when designing the interface. What to scrub forward in a film? You won't see a thumbnail of what you are scrubbing through. And skip ahead requires you to tap the side of the touch pad on the Siri remote rather click on the side of the remote, which can lead to accidental skips as well as just being very annoying by not following the standard Apple TV UI behavior, such as seen in the iTunes Movies app or even YouTube.
  • Greater update to an already great app
