I really like this app a lot overall. Nice reminders and tips without being too annoying. Food searching pretty easy and plenty preloaded. Love the breakdowns of the meals if you are on/off track. Wishes for improvement: Not sure the carbs tracker for Keto strict is accurate- believe it’s tracking total carbs instead of net carbs. Eg if I follow other Keto recommendations I’m in-range/under carb totals when I eat high fiber veggies, but on app it’s constantly saying “over carbs” for things like almonds and avocados and nut butters. Has been frustrating and I’ve almost switched plans several times bc I don’t trust it (& is constantly telling me I’m off-track” for the day.) :( Also would be good to have a way to add more recipes or brands- sometimes our ingredients don’t match up to what’s included and have to manually load each ingredient.
  • Database of food leaves a lot to be desired

I signed up for a subscription this time, and I do think it gives a lot of good information and over all is a good tool to help me control my diet to keep to my goals. However the database of food is kind of terrible. Most of the foods don't offer units of measurements you would usually see in recipes like cups, tablespoons, and teaspoons. In fact you can tell most of them are user submitted because theres literally only “1 serving” as the unit of measurement. And what is that? I don't know. It wouldn't bother me with boxes of foods so much as it is frustrating for basic foods like chicken, vegetables, eggs, milk.... standard foods that usually have standard dietary measurements that should be put into the database by lifesum, not the users. So that i can put in foods from recipes. Honestly the other two calorie counter apps are far superior in this regard. I appreciate the clean design here, but if the database doesn't improve I don't think I will be too interested in renewing my subscription. Its too much of a hassle to search and search and guess which food and measurement might be kind of accurate. I know calorie counting is not an exact thing... but with this you probably will be WAY off...

Good app! I tried to scan and add a food that wasn’t in database, but it would let me go passed the categories option. It’d bring up the categories window but it was all blank. Please fix. Thanks.

Had this app recommended to me but there is a weight limit?!?! Really?!? On a weight loss app?! Will have to tell my readers on my blog. Sad.
  • Great motivator

Very well organized easy to use app. Can’t seem to figure out how to ADD a new meal that isn’t a bar code or not already listed
  • Keeps me accountable

For the past week and a half of using this app, I have logged everything I eat from just a small snack to my meals. It’s hard because I work overnights and I log my dinners as breakfast and so on but it does help me maintain accountability of my food. I like being able to find the foods I eat from popular restaurants to foods I prepare at home. My favorite part of the app is being able to scan the barcode of the food I prepare and input my portions. One of my personal issues is ensuring that I drink enough water and this app also includes a water tracker which is also a favorite of mine. Because I am able to tracker my water intake, I am pushing myself to drink even more water! I love this app! Thanks.
  • cool app, BUT...

Think this app is awesome. The layout is great and beautiful. I love that you can get a feel for the app before paying for it, which in my opinion is awesome. I love that you can customize your settings, and make it fit your goals. So it truly is a beautiful app. The only reason I gave this app a three star was because you are not given the option to create a meal from scratch. I love to build my own meals from the ground up. This app does not give me that option. I believe this is a very important option to have because everyone cooks different, and not everyone buys a meal already made or follows a generic recipe.

Great app. Smooth. Easy to track food. Please stop reminding me to upgrade. Should be an option to turn it off until I’m ready to upgrade if I choose to.
  • Love it- but a few places for improvement

The app is beautiful - which may be shallow but the design has certainly made me want to engage with the app far more than other food tracking apps I’ve used before. The reminders and prompts are helpful and motivating, and Lifesum offers a lot of easy-to-select plans (keto, 5:2) that I was interested in. I’ve paid for the 6 month subscription and am using the 5:2 plan. However, the food database to search from is far more spotty than Myfitnesspal and I’m putting most of my food in manually, and I am unable to move around my fast days throughout the week to account for my schedule, which causes some really discouraging feedback from the app when I’m either blowing my fast day calories or way under eating on a non-fast day.
