  • New version buggy

    By reading sept 18 issue forever
    Love reading the New Yorker but the latest version is missing the “go back” arrow at the top left when you are in an issue so you can see all the issues. Current version basically makes you stuck in whatever issue you click on so click wisely! To the app developer- please fix this problem!

  • Limiting

    I'm used to the Condé Nast app because I used it with another of their magazines, but this one lacks a feature that one did. You can't you zoom in on the text. It does give you one larger type choice, but given the font and layout is the same as in the print edition - I.e. crowded - I would still like a bigger choice or the ability to zoom. I prefer reading my magazines online, so I will see if I want to extend my trial subscription.
  • Buggy app, good content

    I love the new yorker but this app, specifically this version, is horrible. Half the time when I'm reading, the "library" button in the top left disappears making it impossible to exit the issue I'm reading. I've had to re-install the app to get out and download the next one.
  • Good digital implementation

    9.19.17 A goodway to peruse the magazine. One ios11 bug. After downloading the current issue can't find a link to go back to library. In the past it came up after tapping on the screen as a link in the upper left corner. The solo shows up when opening older issues. But after downloading the current issue can't get back to library. Restarting doesn't help. I had to delete the app and reload it. That works as I have now proven twice! Hopefully that will be addressed soon. Otherwise constrained to stay a week behind.

    The one star rating has nothing to do with the content produced by the New Yorker. The magazine and the writers they publish are wonderful. The app, however, has been consistently buggy. I've had to delete and reinstall it several times when issues come up. The latest issue was that all issues were no longer free, I had to pay to download them even though my subscription was valid for another few months. After wasting my time with customer support for awhile I finally just reinstalled the app. I of course had to reset my password because who remembers passwords anymore and once I logged in the issues were restored. All this trouble seemingly out of nowhere and for nothing.
