Meetup App Description

Meetup brings people together in thousands of cities to do more of what they want to do in life. It is organized around one simple idea: when we get together and do the things that matter to us, we’re at our best. And that’s what Meetup does. It brings people together to do, explore, teach and learn. For example, people run marathons, thanks to running Meetups. They write, thanks to writing Meetups. They change their careers, thanks to career Meetups. Because at Meetups, people welcome each other. They talk, help, mentor, and support each other – all in pursuit of achieving their life goals. Featured by Apple in “Best New Apps” and “Great Free Apps” Some popular Meetups include: Tech Meetup groups Moms Meetup groups Dads Meetup groups Fitness Meetup groups Hiking Meetup groups Career and Networking Meetup groups Support Meetup groups Book Club Meetup groups Photography Meetup groups New in Town Meetup groups Social Meetup groups Dog Meetup groups Language Meetup groups and 1,000s more Subscription plans: Want to start a new Meetup and become an organizer? Anyone who wishes to organize a Meetup may subscribe through the app. An organizer subscription entitles you to create up to three Meetups with an unlimited number of members and co-organizers. I'm real close to just deleting this app because it constantly crashes when I try to refresh something.
  • Issues with location service

The last few versions of the app have been giving me issues locating meetups near me. I have my location services turned on, yet the app tells me lat must be between -90 and 90. Please look into the issue so I can find what’s going on more easily.

App is very buggy and not user-friendly. I will sign up for a meet up and then it will later say ".join us" even though I've already responded. I will sign up for a group and then the next thing I know it has I am not listed as a member and asked me to join the group again! It's not clear how to contact members directly. Overall I find it very confusing and not compatible with the website.

When searching for meetups you can only filter by large time periods. That wouldn’t be a problem so much if the UI were designed by a half way intelligent person. Let’s say I want to look at meetups after 6PM. I can filter for “evening”. Now if I click into any of them it does not save my position but sends me right back to the top. Which is the design of a moron. As it stands if 10 different groups are having the same event I will have to scroll down for literally a few minutes to get back to where I was. At this rate the app is unusable. Who designs their app to be unusable? I pretty much gave up on looking for meetups after this happened to me a few times. I can’t keep scroll over an over again. It loads so slowly that it literally takes minutes to get back to my place. If there are 10 entries for the same event at 6PM why can’t I filter for 6:15PM? At least that is one solution. Or why won’t it remember my place in the search? Pretty idiotic design and really this isn’t new. We have had apps for a decade. There is no excuse for this level of incompetence. Please talk to your UI designer. This is a fundamental problem. I won’t be using this app until this issue is sorted out. It is just too frustrating for me.

I don't know what happened to the app, but I got a message and went to get it, and couldn't retrieve it. Tried to reload the app and now I can't even log in to my account. Needs to be fixed NOW

  • New Meetup App difficult to use

As a group organizer, I relied on the previous app to set calendar events and update members. But the new app shows deleted events for months and makes finding upcoming ones difficult - two terrible issues for new members to resolve. I feel strongly that membership has suffered as a result. The prior app wasn't as pretty, sure, but it was functionally sound. Here's one occasion where I'd rather go backwards.

Can someone please configure your app to be compatible with iPad Pro . It only works in portrait mode doesn’t work in landscape mode . After downloading iOS 11 your app shrunk to the same size as my iPhone on my iPad. Please fix Thanks Gus
