  • My go-to Podcast app - sync issues remain

    By m.t.majeski
Pocketcasts became my go-to podcasting app when they released their app for Windows Phone. I continued to use it once I switched to iOS. I also paid for the web player access as well (totally worth it). However I have found syncing between devices to be unreliable. If I start an episode on my phone and then move to another device -pressing play on an iPad or the web player will start at the beginning. If I unsubscribe from a podcast on my phone, it is very rare that this will be reflected on the web player. I also wish you could listen to individual episodes of a podcast / view past episodes without having to subscribe. Still hoping for an AppleTV app as well!
  • Unstable, frustrating

Really tried to like this one, but podcasts randomly skip or stop playing for downloaded podcasts and after upgrading to iOS 11, this app crashes my phone.
  • Having an issue, though

    By MarcioQuelhas
I am having an issue when playing several podcasts from the playlist. The current podcast is played until its end but then the next podcast is not started. When I look back in the queue, the first podcast is on pause and the bar, that shows the elapsed time, is back on half the duration of the podcast, approximately. I need to remove it from the playlist in order for the subsequent podcast to be played. This is happening several times with different podcasts.
  • Carplay

Great app! The app doesn't seem to work with carplay anymore?
  • The best podcast app

    By becaqua
There is no better podcast app on the app store. This is the most organized, easy to use, and reliable app on the app store for listening to podcasts. The way that the podcasts are layed out in front of you is really organized and easy to navigate, and the option for either downloading or streaming is also really nice. If you need a podcast app this is 100% worth the money that it costs.
  • I have gifted this app to ~ 7 people

This is easily the most used app on my phone, and the ONLY app I will ever use for podcasts. When I am telling friends about listening to podcasts and trying to get them into it for the first time, I always gift them this app because it just makes podcast listening such a better experience. Beautiful interface, super user friendly, great recommendations and well organized to find new podcasts of interest. All around fantastic. Also the updates are always really fun to read :) Thanks for continuing to improve my favorite (and most used) app! You all are the best!

This app is a workhorse. But the icon is not changing with the new update.
  • Really lovely

I really love this app ❤️❤️❤️ I listen to podcasts A LOT and I'm picky about my apps, and this is probably my favorite app on my phone (or at least top 5 alongside the google apps). VERY thoughtfully and beautifully designed. Of course there's always more features that I'd like: - A setting so that when you subscribe to a new podcast, all episodes are marked as unplayed. You can do this by hand, but it's a pain. Some people like to listen to old episodes! This app isnt well designed for those people. - a recently played list. Sometimes i accidentally press play on my headphones when im not listening and play thru my entire upnext, so my entire playlist gets marked as played and is deleted, and trying to recover the episodes by hand is a giant pain. I gave up and turned off auto delete so I have to delete each episode by hand. Obviously this workaround is a bit of a pain. - The ability to sync the status of all podcasts, including ones handmarked as listened/unlistened. I've grown to love this app but I still have nightmares from the giant headache from all my syncing problems when I first downloaded the app and tried to migrate over my huge podcast collection. - This is nitpicky, but the ability to swipe between the home pages of podcasts. The free app I used when I was on android had this, and I liked swiping through my podcasts to build my up next. - Another nitpicky detail, but showing the year alogside the date - The ability to search for a specific podcast episode title!!
  • Can't Say Enough Good Things About This App!

    By Kwftx
I've tried all the top podcast apps and this one is clearly the best! I use it on my iPhone, iPad, and I purchased the web app. I have not regretted making this my app of choice for podcast consumption. As a power listener(approximately 80 podcasts), Pocketcasts has not disappointed. The UI is so sleek and smooth and I love the easy swiping options and the features I can set on a per podcast basis. Some of them I know I want to automatically download while others I wait and read the description before deciding whether or not to download. I also appreciate being able to set a starting point so I can skip some of the long episode intros. The filter settings for playlists/groups is so customizable that I have have numerous lists and can set them up exactly how I want. Syncing across devices is also extremely reliable and the "up next" feature allows me to easily put together a series of shows to listen to and just let it play. Finally, the trim silence feature has saved me a ton of time. Now, although it's the best there are a couple of suggestions I have for the devs to make it even better. 1) Allow the option to listen to a single episode of a podcast without having to subscribe. 2) Add the option to turn off the screen rotation if I want. I would rather keep it in portrait mode all the time. 3) When streaming(which we all know is just a progressive download), allow the trim silence and volume boost features to continue working. Shifty Jelly has hit a home run with this app and I can't wait to see what future updates bring!!!! Update*** The newest update just keeps adding nice little touches and customizations. Great job!
