Praise "The popular Couch to 5K app helps new runners avoid injury from doing too much, too soon." —Runners World, June 2012 "It's ridiculously easy to use (it's hard not to, as you just do what you're told) and it's fantastic that you have an encouraging voice talking you through things." —Engadget, June 2012 "’s Couch to 5K is one of my favorite… apps. With its customizable features, interactivity, and well-rounded interface, I may actually stay off the couch this time." —148Apps, October 2011 "I knew as soon as I decided to start the Couch to 5K program that I would need something to keep me accountable—not just to showing up for my training, but to actually doing it properly. Of course there’s an app for that." —CalorieLab, April 2012 "If you have been struggling to get your buns off the couch and somewhat in shape before the summer hits, training for a 5K is not a bad way to start. If you are looking for a program to help get you there, then the “Couch to 5K” running plan by CoolRunning is probably your best bet if you haven’t done an ounce of athletic activity for a number of years." —Droid Life, April 2012 FAQ • Once you purchase the app, it is yours to keep. It does not expire after 9 weeks.

App Reviews

  • This app was perfect until 2 Weeks ago, now it’s garbage

    By Bbeffnyy
I loved this app, it worked perfectly, the program is effective, and the coaches make it fun. But now I am on week 7 and it has stopped accurately measuring my distance and pace. Which is the whole point of the app!! This has happened for two weeks now since the 3D coach update. It’s frustrating to be this far along and not be able to accurately record your pace progress. When I emailed support, I got an email back 4 days later saying it couldn’t be delivered. So if it wasn’t delivered, how could I get a rejected response?? So now I have to write a poor review. It’s a shame
  • Very Disappointing

    By BigLan25
I must say I had very high hopes for this app, but after purchasing, I found out it had no true support for Apple Watch (you need to carry phone to get app to work and receive audio cues), or Health app. The glorified virtual trainer which was its recent update is totally unnecessary, because it added nothing new to its operation. For all of its updates it’s very outdated (IMHO). Two stars given because it is a decent 5K Training app.
  • Good for new runners

    By LauraBellRunRocks
Before using this app I was not a good runner and had never tried to be one before. It starts off so easy and builds gradually enough that it worked really well for me. I can now jog without stopping for about 3 miles which amazing! My pace isn’t great yet, but the fact that I can just keep going was my initial goal from the start. My biggest complaint is it’s harder to keep track if you need to go back in time. I took about 5 months off when I was over halfway through with the app because of health reason. When I was able to get back to it, it was not conceivable for me to be able to jog 28 minutes straight again. It was much harder for me to keep up with where I was each time I ran because the app wanted me to jog where I left off 5+ months prior.
  • For the love of god

This new update with the intrusive trainers is so dumb and junior league. Please let there be an option to disable them. I just wanna run.
  • Still lacking

    By Luce420
Needs support for Apple Watch, sync with Activity app and health data on iPhone. I would rather have these functions than a “virtual trainer”
  • Cannot recommend enough

    By RemdawgMillionaire
Before I used this app I had probably never run even one mile consecutively and by the time I was finished with the program I was up to 5k. I really credit this app for helping me reach my goal by meeting me where I was at and pushing me to go further than ever before.
  • Love it but....

    By Waste of money19.99
I love this app but it needs a Fitbit ionic app. Please make one, PLEASE!!!!
  • Treadmill Run

    By Solovely504
Love the app, but there are many apps that allows you to enter treadmill workouts, for the days when and outdoor workout is viable.
  • Drains battery

    By AnDubya
I’ve used the app for over a year now, on and off. I don’t know what’s going on but it drains my battery! With 75% it uses more power than everything else combined. I only use it three times a week, turned off background refresh etc. have to charge my phone every day. Please fix!
  • GPS not tracking runs

    By Jutintyme2transport
Am on week 3 and all the settings are enable to use location but the app is no longer tracking my runs. I’ve been using the app at the same location for weeks
