Top Stocks by MarketSmith App Description

Top Stocks offers both experienced and novice investors strong stock ideas derived from proven research—not opinions. For those wanting to truly understand stocks and the market, Top Stocks also provides a learning path to active investment research. Upgrading Within Top Stocks: By offering a daily selection of ideas, Top Stocks encourages you to give your attention to the stock market every day, so you can better develop a true investing routine. The Basic level is free. In-app purchasing is available for the Plus and Premier levels, both of which unlock the ability to evaluate more stocks using more sophisticated research tools. Three Levels of Service: • The Basic level is the free version of the application where you can access the first five stocks appearing on each idea list—Monday through Friday. • At the Plus level ($4.99 per month), you can access all five idea lists in their entirety (lengths vary). You also unlock more options for building your stock research skills. • At the Premier level ($29.99 per month), you can access all U.S.-traded stocks, including the full five idea lists. Here, even more sophisticated research tools are unlocked. Your Top Stocks monthly subscription will automatically renew each month at cost of U.S.$4.99/month for Plus and U.S. $29.99/month for Premier. You will be charged through your iTunes account at confirmation of your purchase. Price may vary by location. Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can turn off auto-renew from your iTunes account settings. No cancellation of the current subscription is allowed during the active subscription period. Who Makes Top Stocks? Top Stocks was created by MarketSmith—a powerful desktop research platform for advanced investors—so Top Stock’s “Idea Lists” and “Stock Evaluation” features are powered by professional-level fundamental analysis, technical analysis, and historical research. It also means that your learning path can naturally flow from Top Stocks to MarketSmith, where you get everything you need to master the world of investing and participate confidently in it. All of our products benefit from the pioneering work of William J. O’Neil, founder of MarketSmith, who was the first to use computers and a database to identify and chart the recurring characteristics of top-performing companies over decades of market cycles. Through 50 years of rigorous studies, O’Neil originated a disciplined and practiced investment philosophy that is the foundation of the stock charts so central to our product lines. Data Included: Top Stocks leverages a team of 40 highly trained Data Research Analysts who collect and process key data on equities, industry groups, and mutual funds; cleanse or verify that information for accuracy; then make it available to be loaded into all MarketSmith products.

This is just a great app, upgrade to the &9.99 Month. THE BEST Fundamentals, go from daily to weekly to monthly & inter day charts. A+ to E rating on almost any stock. One touch takes you to company website another to Relevant media . The most important data. The $9.99 month includes 5 lists, Leaders, Growth potential, Breakouts and more. Further, in any list there is a easy to use screener with thirty criteria. Top stocks is a "lite" version of MarketSmith, A charting service with a full time research staff of over forty professionals. MarketSmith/IBD also publishes, a weekly newspaper, and maintains websites at Investors.com & MarketSmith. Start at TIBD on Utube for great intro.
  • Good content, terrible App

The content about stocks and analysis is very good. However, the App is atrocious and lacks basic functionality that you'd expect from an iPhone App.

This app does not have an option to cancel your subscription and should not be allowed on the Apple Store without this basic option. The customer service people are super rude and are crooks basically saying they won't help you go contact Apple it's a painful process to get out go to the App Store in settings and navigate through there. The information in this app is decent it is just like the newspaper but the lack of when to sell information is a painful experience that IBD should figure out better ratings for selling.
  • Obscure investment advice

this app shows you 5 charts with supposed "A+" ratings and then asks you to pay for more. Where are these ratings coming from? The developer? Good luck to anybody who wants to bet his money based on a single obscure source like this.
  • Excellent application!

I use the full version of this app. It has much of the functionality of the more expensive Marketsmith app. It has provided insight to hot stocks that have created sizeable returns. This is must have for those of you with real day jobs - use this app at lunch and break time to make your buy and sell decisions. Great app!

I like the charts on this apps they are easily readable,as for getting your money back if you're using an Apple device all you have to do is go into your settings and in the subscription.

The ideas are solid and the graphics and layout are very good. Like someone else said, pattern recognition would be a nice addition.
  • Trap you

App was okay to use. Not the best. They trap you into a subscription and send you in circles just to get out. Still waiting to stop being charged monthly. Ridiculous. I guess that's how they get easy money.
