  • Bugs life

    By Froggersman90
It seems to freeze most of the time when I try to multitask like as a videos playing and typing a comment or watching the video and rotating my screen it’ll freeze in the audio still plays and you hit the home button but nothing, you hit the power button and it dims with the audio still playing and your phone frozen for a good 15 seconds
  • This app is garbage

    By Yesserson
Simple, easy to use. But there is an issue with some videos loading that needs to be addressed.
  • Too many ads

    By reiciersdmrofu
Ads play from one video to the next... it is ridiculously unenjoyable to be forced to watch 15 to 30 sec ads.
  • Eh but I get lots of bugs

    By Jman3302
So usually I get some miscellaneous bugs that are fairly easy to deal with but after the most recent update youtube videos will randomly pause? And if I unpause it, the video immediately pauses again. It’s super annoying, especially if I’m listening to music. Otherwise it’s a decent app that I spend too much time on.
  • Constantly freezes with audio still running

    By Amytha83
I have had this problem for quite some time now. It happens online as well, so I don’t know where the issue is. I will be watching a video and it suddenly freezes, the audio still running, and I am not even able to close the app or exit out. Then I have to completely restart the app and then when I do restart the video I was watching is like 45 seconds from where it originally froze. Just thought I would put this out there so maybe it can get fixed, if that’s even possible. I never used to have this issue. I pay for youtube TV and honestly just expect a whole lot more. But I guess the great quality that used to come from youtube before Google has changed that! If it doesn’t give it soon I will be cancelling the extra monthly fee that is NOT cheap, as there’s no point to paying extra for an app when the quality is worse than I got before when I spent nothing.
  • Great just the update

    By Raider Pete
I LOVE YouTube so don’t get me wrong but I like when you look for a different video and your video is still in a box shape. The update makes it look like music. If this is fixable I give it 5 stars
  • Updating is overrated

I regret updating. Major pest problem w these new bugs.
  • Updated review: one year later...

    By TheLewsa
So I wrote a modestly lengthy review a year ago about issues I had with YouTube at that time, and figured now would be a good time to do an update. My biggest issues at this time last year were as follows: offline glitch, too many ads on some videos, and no option for different scrubbing speeds. Kudos to the YouTube developers for actually addressing these issues for the most part since then. I no longer have the "offline" glitch occur where it would think I was offline even though I had full bars of reception either on wifi or my LTE network. Next, the scrubbing speeds: thank you for finally doing something about this. The new ability to tap continuously on either the left or right side of the screen to scrub 10-second intervals per tap is very intuitive and works very well. Now on to my current issues with YouTube: I will admit, the actual software developers have done okay on making improvements to YouTube since my last review, and my current argument isn't with them, it's with the people above them that actually run YouTube and decide on how the algorithms work, as well as censoring what was originally and should still be an open and free community that uses this app. Demonetizing people's videos on their YouTube channels because you don't like their honesty with how the government is ran, to deleting people's comments because they question the status quo, all the way to even deleting people's YouTube channels entirely all because they exposed a government cover-up of something is just plain wrong. These are all things that should be highly alarming to anyone that wants to live in a world where they should have the right to free speech. YouTube has become a large powerhouse for propaganda and is on the verge of being completely ran by the government. When you have a monopoly on the free video streaming/uploading market I guess you can do whatever you want, but it does not make it okay. It is absolutely appalling the lengths to which I have seen some good people's channels be cut down to almost (and sometimes literally) nothing, all because they were too honest about the current state of the world, or in other instances simply because of terrible algorithms. I've literally seen people that have channels just dedicated entirely to doing video game reviews get almost all of their videos demonetized for absolutely no valid reasons whatsoever. These examples I speak of were people that literally would do great reviews on newly released video games, and would even meticulously watch their language even to make sure they didn't even have a single "swear word" in the videos, in hopes that it would help keep them from getting demonetized, to no avail. I also have seen a guy get his channel permanently banned all because he made videos of him recording the moon at night. Seriously, this platform has become abhorrent in its current practices. For these reasons, I'm not only going to leave my old 2-star review where it was, I'm going to dock it down to a 1-star review because YouTube needs to learn that the only reason for its continued success IS the community inside it! When you can learn to treat your community of both viewers AND uploaders with the respect they deserve, I will change my rating. Until that time, I'm going to have to leave it where it is.
  • Worst app ever programmed.

    By Laserboy5276
It crashes unexpectedly, every time I pause, every time I try to watch an over ten minute video. It takes me an hour to watch a fifteen minute video, and notifications come out an hour late. Plz fix this Google.
  • Not working

    By lizbirdie
It works on mobile devices, but on iPad when I click a video, nothing happens
