Cruelty Cutter App Description

Cruelty-Cutter is cruelty-free shopping made simple! Cast-away any doubts when purchasing items by using this app to scan an item and have an immediate response about it’s animal-testing status. Cruelty-Cutter has every company in the "Leaping Bunny" and PETA lists and thousands more. It is the most up-to-date and vigilant cruelty-free list on the market. Cruelty-Cutter is your activist app! Share your results with friends on social media and also share your concern or praise with the company itself. Companies that still choose to test on animals will get the message that Cruelty-Cutter users are against what they are doing! The more shares, the more “Doggie Dollars” you earn towards coupons for cruelty-free items! Cruelty-Cutter lets you register your concern and help collect data to bring to companies that test on animals to show them that the public is not interested in supporting companies that continue to use animals when it is not needed. Use Cruelty-Cutter to help ‘free beagles’ (and other animals) from testing labs! -- Scan product barcodes and instantly learn if the product is cruelty-free!! -- “Bite Back” by posting to social media sites of #CruelCompanies. -- Earn “Doggie Dollars” by taking action! -- Redeem Doggie Dollars for deals on cruelty-free products. -- Connect with friends and help build a cruelty-free community! -- Stay up-to-date with animal welfare issues, including ways you can help. Download to donate! Your app purchase helps raise funds for Beagle Freedom Project, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to freeing beagles from testing labs. Beagle Freedom Project rescues beagles (and other animals) from labs across the globe, giving them a second chance at life!

  • Great App, Would Love To See It Grow

I was frustrated with the app at first because I have products that have cruelty-free symbols printed on them, but the app would still tell me it is NOT cruelty-free. So I decided to research the companies in question and found that either the brands parent company is not cruelty-free or the brand sells in China (where they require animal testing). Love that it goes into that much detail and I've done enough of my own back up research to trust that the app is correct every time. Even my husband thinks it's easy enough to use that he was willing to make the switch to entirely cruelty-free products as well. Here is what I would like to see improved upon in the future: 1.) I would like there to be reasons why the brand is not cruelty-free listed when you scan it. Like "they have facilities within the US that test on animals", "they sell in a country that requires animal testing", "they are owned by a company that is not cruelty-free", etc. 2.) It would be great to see the "Cruelty-Free Alternative" button actually lead us to recommendations for similar products. if I scan a drugstore powder foundation and it is not cruelty-free, I can click the button and see brands of other powder foundations that are. Maybe it can be that other users recommend their favorite alternatives and eventually the store of alternatives will be extensive! 3.) Lastly, and kind of unrelated to this app, I would love to see the creators of this app make a similar app for products produced by people working in inhumane conditions.

I downloaded this free app as I recently decided on living a vegan lifestyle. I love how if allows you to email the animal testing company right then and there in the store after scanning their product. It lets them know why you didn't purchase their product . Great ethical app as just because the product says its cruelty free, the patent company is not and will then tell you that's is not cruelty free. Also if a product is cruelty free in the U.S, but they sell in China , it will tell you it's not cruelty free as ALL cosmetics/personal products HAVE TO be animal testing if being sold inside China . I never had issues w this app unless I had poor wifi connection. Love it !!!
  • False

Much information is false. Many companies listed as not testing do and many companies listed as not testing are owned by parent companies that do. This app is not helpful and could lead you to make the wrong decision.

Wanted to try this app out, didn't realize it costed money. No where does it say you have to purchase it. I, along with another fellow reviewer, just basically got scammed into "purchasing" this app. Not cool. You need to disclose that!!

Omg tbh I can't believe the hurt so many animals like begals 98 percent of them get tested on and we're pay without even knowing their being tested on in labs with tattoos on their ears vocal cords cut off they don't even know how to walk it's a great app

As someone who worked in the cosmetic business, you'd be shocked when you learn that a brand you think is cruelty free, is owned by a parent company that does animal testing. That's why some products you think are against animal testing, may still be, but your money goes to a company that still does test!( I notice someone's review saying their Philosophy product is cruelty free, but their parent company is not!!!)

The app kicks me out every time I try to view the privacy policy or terms of use. I will not create an account with something that won't let me see these things.

I love this app. It has really changed my prospective about the things I purchase. I use it all the time at the grocery store. I have changed most of my every day products to Cruelty free and organic supplements. I highly recommend this app👍😊

Too many features do not work. Drives me crazy. I scan a product and that works but click on boycott and nothing happens until a pop up says something about not being set up for doggie dollars or something if that nature. Many other frustrating non-working features. UGHHHHHH

Please note that just because a companies website says they are cruelty free, doesn't mean they actually are. A lot of websites will word it to make you think they are. If a brand sells in china, they are not cruelty free and that is where a lot of confusion comes from between this app and websites. This is by far one of the best apps I have used to find products that are cruelty free because it is updated frequently as products change. I also like that it tells you if a products parent company tests on animals to give you a more informed decision.
