Hours Time Tracking App Description

Hours is the time tracker you will actually use. "The Perfect iPhone Time Tracking App" - Forbes "Surprisingly pleasant to use…well-thought-out interface" - TechCrunch “The world’s easiest way of tracking your time.” - 9to5Mac Best New Apps - Apple With a visual timeline, smart reminders, detailed reporting, and an interface crafted by and Apple Design Award winning team, Hours turns a tedious process into — dare we say — an enjoyable one. Time tracking seems like it should be easy…and it would be, if we were all robots. Unfortunately, humans tend to have problems with 1. Forgetting to track your time in the first place 2. Forgetting to note when you change tasks 3. Forgetting to stop a timer after you start one So Hours lets you: • Set smart reminders to nag you at just the right times to start and stop your timers • Start/stop/switch timers with one tap (now even from the home screen with 3D Touch) • Use the visual timeline to easily identify and correct mistakes • Set rounding rules to round time to whatever interval you are used to — 6 minutes, 15 minutes, and more • Quickly see on a calendar view which days you tracked time and which days you forgot • Track your time by clients, projects, and tasks if you need to • Add notes to your time entries • View on-screen reports in the app, or email detailed CSV or PDF reports • Sync your time with Hours on the web, where you can track time from your desktop and view beautiful reports • Now your whole team can use Hours to track, report, and analyze time Please email us if you have any questions or suggestions to improve the app: support@hourstimetracking.com -- The Hours Pro subscription, which provides additional reporting options, costs $7.99 per month. The subscription will be charged to your credit card through your iTunes account and will automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Though your subscription for the current month cannot be canceled, you can turn auto-renewal off in your account settings after purchase. • Subscription would not cancel

I canceled the subscription in-app and deleted the app yet it still charged me the next month. Had to cancel through Apple.

This is the one you’re looking for. Really great app!
  • Great tool for hours tracking!

I have to keep track of some but not all of my activities for work in an application called Salesforce. Hours helps me consistently track my personal and work related activities so I can not only enter the right data in Salesforce at the end of the week, but also understand where I spend my personal time and find ways to be more efficient in the limited time I have for personal stuff.
  • I like it

So far I like the app a lot. It took me a little figuring to understand how to use it. I haven’t yet used any of the reports.
  • Best time keeping app I’ve used

Love pretty much everything about this app. Great to have a web interface too if I want to dive into the data more. Couple suggestions: allow input for a dollar amount/hr worked and display that in the report next to the total time worked on the individual project. If there’s a way to do this that I’ve missed please let me know! I’m still having to do the math to convert the time to dollars for my invoices. Lastly, would be nice to be able to select reports for only one client at a time during a time period.
  • Project Timer Problems & Poor Support

    By Nice-if-worked
UPDATE 12/24/2017 After writing my initial review describing my problems (see below) support contacted me. The developers had to correct issues with my timers. It was not something I could fix. I will start again to use the app. I like the overall structure and will see how it functions now that it’s working. ———————————————————- I have the following problems since trying this out. I like the concept and flow but there are obviously serious bugs and customer support is very poor. I will not use this unless the bugs are fixed. 1. The timers i create on the iPhone & web are out of sync and not the same. 2. I get system errors when trying to delete timers on the web. It says there is time on these projects & there isn’t. 3. This has been reported to support using there email address provided. They said this would be fixed. That was over a week ago and I’ve received no responses back.

Seems like it might be fine, but pestered me about writing a review way too soon. I have no idea whether it’s a good app, but if the developer is pushing the review this early, I worry they may not be very good about thinking from a user’s perspective.
  • Nice looking time tracking app

Update Dec 07,2017 The developer replied to my problem exporting without a subscription account and I was incorrect. You can export hitting the share icon to the left of a category you see in the reporting window. Apologies to the developer. I’ve updated to 5 stars. Update Nov 30,2017 This is still one of the nicest looking time tracking apps but the changes to a subscription model might make it a poor choice if you’re not a company. I was a paid pro user. I was fine with the optional subscription model giving new features like syncing across devices or web access. The thing that kills it for me is if you use the free version (my previous $6.99 purchase is useless now) you have NO way to export your data. So if you want to email a summary of hours and notes forget it unless you want to pay $8/month. The developer should have kept a single paid version that allowed this one feature. If this is important to you, the best app I’ve found so far is HoursTracker by Cribasoft. Update April 14, 2016 I had given up on this app with the recent bugs and tried another. While the other app was robust and had a great watch app I found a major omission. I could archive projects. This was leaving me with a huge list that would only grow. So I decided to try Hours again after seeing some updates to address the bugs. Much better now. I would have given it 4.5 stars because I would love an Hours complication on the watch but I rounded up to 5 stars since the developers fixed the problems quickly. Update March 16, 2016 I really wanted to keep using this app once the Watch app came out but since moving to cloud sync it seems very buggy. The Watch is a perfect way to track time but I often tap to start or stop and nothing happens. I've lost entries due to this. I've also been watching my battery monitor on my iPhone and the Hours background task is now one of the heavy hitters. The app is so nice looking and powerful but I can't work with the bugs so I'm switching to another for now that seems more robust with a nice Watch app. Hopefully they will work out the bugs with Hours. Previous review Even as a salary worker this is a great app for tracking time. I have to itemize all my charges and this app makes it simple. Every Friday I just email a pdf report to my work email and use to generate a status report for my supervisor. Great app.
  • Love it!

I love the clean and elegant UI! My one feature request would be to send me a reminder to start tracking time on a major location change — e.g. ask me to start tracking time when I arrive at somewhere or to remind me to stop a running timer when I leave.
