Thought was a good app with different recipes than the other recipe apps but I’m not paying. I understand you need to make money. Can’t you do it off ads‽‽‽ either way I’ll move on to another app

This was a good app in its time. I liked being able to save recipes. So of course the NYT decided to charge an outrageous price for a subscription. I thought increasing the price of the crossword app from $10 to $40 was criminal. Now to charge $40 for a previously free app which I would use once every few months is just plain dumb. Bravo NYT
  • So disappointed.......

I likes this app and would use it once or twice a month to browse maybe once ever two or three months to cook from. Id put up with ads before paying $5 a month for something i use so rarely. Bummer, you had a good thing going. But for over $50 a year forget it.

I deleted this app after I was locked out unless I paid! I had been using the app to save recipes for a long time. The app still advertises as free. Not free!
  • LOVE IT! W/ update request

Small update: I still love this app. I know I wished for pics for ALL recipes. I wish there was a way to have it that way without the size. It's the biggest app (over a gig) on my phone. That's a lot. More than FIFA 16 or Pokémon Go. The crazy thing is... I don't cook. But I love food. I love the variety. I love the organization. I started to read the recipes from the paper, then online and now the app. If I ever cooked, the mobility of the app would make me look like a genius. Love it. I wish they had pics for every single recipe. But it's still a great app! (It still doesn't have pics for all recipes. It's still huge)
  • A once good app ruined

A bait and switch. This app worked wonderfully for saving recipes. I get that they want to monetize the NYT cooking component but now I am locked out of all my saved recipes that have nothing to do with NYT. It is now not only useless but has actually damaged my archive of recipes.

You guys have lost your mind trying to charge that much for this app. Get over yourselves.

I loved this app but they want you to pay for this now.. what a shame

This is a fantastic app. With this app I don't need to go anywhere else to find recipes because I know the recipes (and the user comments) will lead to a great meal. Yes having everything for free is great, but at $3/month with the annual membership this is still a fantastic price. Who owns an iPhone but can't afford to put $3 a month towards improving a skill we all need to do everyday day for the rest of our lives?
